Where the forest
becomes a kingdom.

01 · The Kingdom

A kingdom, grown
inside a forest.

Qingyuan Chimelong Forest Kingdom (清远长隆森林王国) is the newest and most ambitious piece of the Qingyuan Chimelong International Forest Resort — a complete theme park woven into subtropical woodland, where the rides, walkways and show arenas are built around the trees rather than through them. Themed lands unfold one after another along forested valleys, each with its own residents, characters and signature attractions.

And the kingdom is only one third of the valley. The Safari Park and the Forest Hot Spring sit nearby, connected by shuttles — which makes Qingyuan the rare resort where you can watch animals at breakfast, ride coasters at noon, and soak in mineral water after dark. Most travelers come for a day and leave planning a weekend.

Sway

Canopy Glide

An open-air lift drifting just above the treetops — the slowest attraction in the kingdom and, for many, the best. The whole valley unfolds beneath your feet: coaster tracks threading the canopy, animals grazing in the distance, the lake catching the sky.

03 · What awaits

Wear good shoes.
The kingdom is big.

/ 01

Six lands under the canopy

Each land is its own small world — woodland villages, grottos, skybridges and play trails, connected by shaded paths that keep the summer sun off your shoulders. The park rewards wandering: some of the best corners aren't on the map, they're just a flight of steps off the main loop.

Animal residents of the Forest Kingdom
/ 02

The residents

This is Chimelong, so animals are woven through the kingdom rather than fenced off in one corner — encounters and habitats appear between the rides, and the line between "theme park" and "forest safari" blurs in the best way. Treat every habitat as a chance to slow down; the animals set the pace here.

Parade and evening shows at the Forest Kingdom
/ 03

Parades, shows & lantern nights

Daytime parades, lakeside stage shows and — on select days — lantern-lit evening sessions, when the forest turns into the glowing world the park was named for. Show schedules change with the seasons; grab the day's program at the gate and plan your loops around it.

Thrill Ridge

The high ground belongs to the big rides: coasters and drop towers threading the canopy, visible — and audible — from almost anywhere in the park. Ride them in the late afternoon when queues are shortest, then reward yourself with the slowest attraction in the valley on the way out.

Getting there

By car

About 1.5 hours from central Guangzhou, most of it on the expressway. Resort parking sits right by the gates — an easy day trip, though many stay overnight.

By rail

High-speed rail from Guangzhou North to Qingyuan in around 20 minutes, then a 30–40 minute taxi or Didi ride up to the resort valley.

Make it the resort triangle

Safari Park, Forest Kingdom and the Forest Hot Spring share one valley, linked by shuttles. Animals at breakfast, coasters at noon, mineral water after dark — a weekend, not a day.

A perfect day

  1. Gates & gentle lands

Enter with the opening crowd, ride the slow things first, meet the residents while they're awake.

  2. A long lunch

Themed restaurants in the mid-valley — park food, but with a forest view worth lingering over.

  3. Thrill Ridge

Head for the coasters as the day-trippers drift toward the exits of the far lands. Queues are kindest now.

  4. Golden hour loop

One last slow circuit — the canopy glide, the lake, the photo stops you skipped at noon.

  5. Hot spring finish

Shuttle across the valley, sink into 40° water, and watch the steam rise over the kingdom you just conquered.

Opening hours

Typically 09:30 – 18:00, with extended evening sessions on select days. The day's schedule is posted at the gate — plan around it.

06 · Good to know

Before you go.

Six questions every first-timer asks — answered honestly, so nothing surprises you at the gate.

Weekends and public holidays get busy — booking online is the safe bet. Trip.com tickets are instant-confirmation, so you just show the QR code at the gate.

One full day covers the kingdom at a happy pace. But the Safari Park and the hot spring share the same valley — most travelers turn it into a weekend, and the resort hotels make that easy. If you only have a day, pick two of the three and save one for next time.

Very — the gentle lands, play trails and animal encounters are built for short legs, and shaded paths make strollers work well. The big rides on the ridge have height minimums; measure at the gate and plan the split-up strategy before you climb the hill.

Comfortable shoes are non-negotiable — the kingdom is bigger than it looks on the map. Add sun protection, a light poncho if water rides are on your list, and swimwear if you're pairing the day with the hot spring.

Weekday mornings, year-round. Spring and autumn bring the best walking weather; high summer is fine under the canopy but plan the open ridge rides for late afternoon. Avoid Golden Week unless crowds are part of the adventure.

Five to six hours for the park itself; a full weekend if you add the Safari Park and the hot spring. Almost nobody does "just the kingdom" — the valley is designed to keep you.

One last thing

The gates are open.
The kingdom is waiting.
